Can you break a lease? I signed a lease for August 2009
I may be moving home and will not be living in the state of Alabama more.
Is there anyway to break the lease because it has not yet begun, without destroying my credit?
If you can find someone to take over your lease, you may be able to get by. You signed the lease, you are responsible. And if you break it, you lose the deposit and required to be taken to small claims court.
Nope ... a contract is a contract. If the desire landlord he may go to court and obtain a court order requiring you to pay for the entire year. I suggest you contact the owner and try to negotiate with him - it must be time for he / she can find a new tenant and you leave out the lease.
In your lease should have a termination clause in the lease? All leases have a lease termination fee.
