Apartment Contract

I just signed a contract to live in this apartment and I noticed something rather interesting. I do not plan to have everyone living with me but it struck me:

"If you plan to have a member of the movement opposite sex, you must be married or have parental consent to continue."

Why would you need parental consent if people under 18 can not obtain legal contracts?

The building is managed by nuns? Cos if you're married or not has nothing to do with anyone! In the UK, if there is a clause in a tenancy agreement that is unenforcable or unrealistic, even if you signed the contract, you can not be forced to comply (as contractually agreeing to make repairs would be the responsibility of the owner etc..)

If you are under 18 and renting an apartment, you should not have been authorized to sign the contract in the first place unless it was signed by the person who is your guardian, unless you been to court and legally emancipated.

hmmm this is weird. if she did not have parental consent "option I would say that the owners are your only religious nuts, but it's a bit weird.

but yes it's legal ... they write the contract and decide whether to sign it.
