Bubble Wrap Paper

Bubble wrap is a transparent plastic used for packaging fragile items and brittle. It is a plastic sheet with regularly spaced bubbles. These bubbles are actually air filled hemispheres which are spaced at regular intervals and provide cushioning to the items packed and prevent them from breaking. Bubble Wrap was invented by two engineers, Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes, in 1957. The term is a registered trademark of Sealed Air (U.S.) which was founded in 1960 by the inventors, and should in theory be used for products of this company. However, due to the popularity of the brand, the brand has been genericized.
