Commercial Relocation Need help with a transfer clause in a commercial lease.? Opening a new retail store and was struck by a transfer clause in the lease. Would add language to protect me if I do you propose (eg loss of business, what the owner is responsible, etc.). Can anyone help? The last time I checked, the United States two individuals are free to draft and conclude a contract, it is not considered the practice of law, now written contract can not contradict state / federal law or jurisprudence , so you can project that you want It's a good idea to contact a lawyer to defend your interests in this matter. Otherwise, you trust their lawyers and hire broker to include the language required, even if they agree. But you can always ask them. Bring in your negotiation, state the words you want to see, and see if they agree. You or the owner can change the contract directly. Posted on August 21, 2010.
