MarketplaceFlorida Rental Lease Agreement Can anyone tell me the right to hire in Florida for breaking a lease? I signed a lease with an apartment complex. They told me I should quit at any time before my lease ends I have to pay rent to the end of the contract or find someone to rent my apartment to prevent that happening. However, I spoke to another staff said that this complex is completely against a new Florida law that took effect after Charlie Crist became governor. They said the most anyone can now load is 2 months rent for breaking the lease and that's all. Can someone tell me who is right? What is the current law on the Florida end leases? Thank you. The Florida Legislature updated 34-year-old state laws on renting an almost unanimous vote, which allows landlords the ability to raise thousands of dollars in sanctions against tenants who violate their lease agreements.
