Fractional Boat OwnershipWhat does everyone think of fractional ownership boat?

I went from owning my own boat in Florida, where I sailed in the Bahamas often and sometimes the possession of a charter boat that is in the charter of one of the major charter companies. Although this is a bit different from fractional ownership, many of the economy, the advantages and disadvantages are similar.

I decided based on the simple economy. I never used my evenings boat or sail on the weekend, but for cruising 4-8 weeks per year. At about the same amount of time I use my existing charter boat now, only instead of sitting unused and aging, it is approved and generating income. I have more invested in the boat, but I have no maintenance fees, no insurance, no storage costs and best of all, the boat is always ready to go when I present.

Sure charter gives you more flexibility and less engaging, but I browse a lot more because I can do that for about one third of the cost of chartering.

Like everything else however, I think you should watch your own situation: Do you really want to commit a large sum of money to sailing holidays for several years? Is access to the proposed timing desires and work with your free time? Are you able to deal with the words at the end of the contract? What are some things you should consider in making this decision.

However, I think we can not deny the economy of sharing costs rather than have a boat sit and age while paying storage in a shipyard.

I prefer to go the charter route split. At least with Charter, you pay once and are done, less risk and what happens when you're not on board can not hurt you.
