Is this a form of harassment? I lived in an apartment complex owned by a college for over two years and live with a roommate (we enter the second year that all roommates). Until recently, tensions have increased between the two of us must make my roommate with any type of noise, more specifically, television. She complains that the noise makes it suffer from serious medical problems, but was never informed of the university / housing situation of his health.
I spent a lot of options to compromise (refurbishment of furniture, speaking to the PR) but in vain. Those responsible for managing student residents are unable to help, stating that they are not able to move / remove him.
Here are details on the possible harassment:
-It is reported by his friend as my roommate suffers from mental problems. Once the resident authorities were notified, she became furious and he blatantly refused, but admitted privately to me that she was dishonest (to save him the trouble / invasion of privacy).
mysterious reports were filed by the authorities of the apartment there are noise complaints and led to numerous visits by the authorities in our apartment at least 10 times in the last 2 months. The authorities were unable to retrieve call (blocked number), but argue that the appellant is to falsify their identity and location.
"My roommate claims that sometimes I'm not in the apartment, she saw people trying to break into my room (we do not share rooms) and failed to notify the police.
I am unable to find a solution to this seemingly small problem, which has somewhat exaggerated.
What are the things that I can consider in this situation? Of course, I tried to talk and reach an agreement with the rules and basic consideration, however, is still finding it matter with all aspects of our little part of life. Am I to comply with a headset to watch television? Nonsense.
If anyone has any advice or information on how to approach this, please respond.
(I am also unable to get out of my lease without paying a high price school fed, even if this may be my last option).
Breaking the lease is likely your only option. Nothing you have mentioned here is more than ordinary tussles roommate. There is nothing even remotely approaching harassment.
Your choice: a set of headphones for television and other noise making 'devices, or leave.
