Iowa Rental Laws

Iowa Rental LawsUnsanitary living conditions in rental properties Can I refuse to pay the rent Iowa law?

Currently, we live with our children's life is unhealthy condtions. There a hole in our kitchen ceiling caused by rain, the basement is flooded by the rain with no holes in the ceiling of the cave that also our thermestate controlled central air conditioning does not work, as well as several things that are broken. My question is what I have to pay the rent if these things are broken and if not is there a procedure to tell the landlord to repair or is there a procedure in Iowa?

You need a court order, a judge must agree with you. Your challenge that the court will be that you're willing to live with your children, you must go out, then sue.

What does the owner say it all?

Personally, I think that your rental is uninhabitable.

I am ready to go instead of staying in a dilapidated house that is falling apart.
