Learn Home StagingHow do I know if Home Staging work in your town - Part 1

To see if your town will help your home staging business, you have homework to do.

Some rural areas are perfect for home stagers and others, not so much. Whether or not it will work depends on many things, so it is important for you to do your research before you learn the home staging and start your business.

Three things that you can look in deciding whether a home staging company will work in your town:

1. How far is the largest city? The first thing to do is decide how much you're willing to travel for work home staging. If you are one hour's drive from the nearest town, are you comfortable driving that far a couple times a week doing home staging projects? If yes, you can market to homeowners in this city and your smaller city and neighbors to supplement your income.

2. How many homes sold in one year? Contact your local council, real estate and how many homes sold last year in your area. Be aware that only a small percentage of this number of sellers are likely to hire you as a Home Stager. This will give you an idea how the business potential that you would look and whether or not you can earn enough money to support your financial goals. It is important to note that since the home staging pays so well, you could earn enough money with as little 50 to 70 customers who do most of the consultations and few plans for complete staging.

3. How many households are listed in one year? If you talk with someone in the Real Estate Board know how many houses are listed by year, on average. The number will be different from the number of sales because all the homes on the market that will stay there until they sold. If there are many homes listed sold more than you can use the percentage difference in your marketing materials. Presumably, if some of those houses is out on the market had been staged, they would have sold quickly.

In the second part of this article, you will learn two questions you should ask to help determine if the home staging work in your rural area.
