Relocation questions? My fiancee (soon-to-be-wife) and I are moving to Minneapolis MN Austin TX in September. We would prefer that the move would not cost more than $ 2,500. We live in an apartment of two rooms, and will probably be robbing our stuff to go to a br. But we have the usual 37 "LCD TV, sofa, boxes full of wedding gifts / kitchen, closets full of clothes, etc. Can we hire commercial movers to do this for $ 2500?" We looked at organizations like "the country of resettlement services, but they seem mostly to be scams.
Does anyone have a good experience with countries of resettlement or services American Van Lines (non-North American Van Lines)? Or should we just get a U-Haul?
I just moved from Dallas to Atlanta 800 miles. We used Mayflower Van Lines. They will send a representative to your place and give you an accurate estimate of your move. If you really have less weight, they will reduce costs, but it will never be more than estimated. Make sure that if you choose to include in UHAUL you all costs (gas is expensive and truck mileage is terrible). We also paired back on our movement and the cost of $ 3,300. The estimate was $ 3,800, but the weight was lower then they have reduced it. Just be sure to use a reputable carrier and obtain an accurate estimate. There are many horror stories about the moving industry. Good Luck
PS We have a son in Austin, and if we lived anywhere in Texas is where we would.
You'll pay less than $ 3,500 for the move unless you are hiring U-Haul. I wonder if I'm going to splurge at the next Ryder and the rent of which seems to have better trucks. Then I look at U-Haul and prices are still cheap.
My friend was going to move from St. Louis, MO Bozeman, MT and reserved a truck for $ 1,500 budget.
