Cape Town, South Africa and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe? My wife and myself have 7-8 days in July to visit either Cape Town or Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean later. If we go to Zimbabwe, we will have free housing Lokuthula (RCI Gold Crown Resort), it is actually half the price of Cape Town. If we visit Cape Town, we will be staying in Camps Bay.
We visit the Kruger Park for a few days in advance, so I'm not sure if it's worth living in Victoria Falls for a whole week.
We have not been to before either. We prefer to go to one or the other just to avoid traveling as much as possible (this is part of a much larger journey).
What would you do? :)
Thank you in advance.
My first choice would be the Cape, but in Cape Town in July! In winter, you may have luck with the weather, and it may rain or pour all the time. It is hard to choose.
I certainly would not choose the offer of Zimbabwe simply because it is free. Zimbabwe is in total chaos right now, with cholera, malnutrition, etc., If you were able to visit the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, then this would be a wise choice.
I disagree with Cakes4africa. Winter is beautiful in Cape Town. Very soft and you will see sunsets the most amazing. You can not go wrong with Cape Town and Camps Bay, but anything can go wrong in Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls is beautiful, I really want to travel there one day
I say this, but hey your choice
I would say visit both - I have never visited the Victoria Falls - and want.
Are you serious ?!?!?!?!
Have you lived under a rock for the last ten years?
How is it possible that you can even ask about Zimbabwe!
Go to Cape Town. Zimbabwe is not really the place to be for the moment. Although Victoria Falls is very beautiful and a tourist attraction, the suffering in Zimbabwe is very clear and Zimbabwe is really a very unstable place yet. I really do not want to go.
Cape Town is amazing and Camps Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches there. There is much to do in Cape Town that is not limited to the nature and walking. Even if you can still enjoy the beauty of nature by going to the mountain of the table and walking trails in and around Cape Town, you can also exsperience the rich culture of South Africa. The waterfront is a wonderful place to visit, there are boat tours, trips Robbeneiland, dancer, traditional Kaapse Klopse, etc. Then you can also exsperience city life, restaurants and more.
Hello,
My suggestion is that 7-8 days at Vic Falls can be a bit too long, but 7-8 days in Cape Town is perhaps just enough to visit and discover the landscapes and places of interest. Instead of paying too much for the accommodation (which can be very expensive Camps Bay), you can stay in the apartment of my very affordable bachelor in Bellville. It is much more central to everything in and around the peninsula with easy access to main roads. Visit my blog to see photos and contact me if you need help with arrangements.
