What can we do to retrieve our items. Company had storage facility and has been visited by a friend but is now deserted and locked. We do not just want a refund of our articles.

Sounds like they were either a scam or have gone bankrupt halfway through your goods have been shipped. You are probably out of luck.

I hope you paid with a credit card. Also hope that your goods can be easily identified as if the company has closed all the goods belonging to unidentified liquidators
