What rental company allows path-way rentals from U.S. to Mexico? I am a citizen of the United States. I married a woman from Mexico. We would go to Mexico with a small van. Is there a rental company that rents trucks one way the United States to Mexico? I heard that rental trucks, trailers are not allowed to cross the US-Mexican border in Mexico. Is this true? We live in St. Louis and head to Mexico City. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Rollybrook said FMT is a visa ... ridiculous!
You can take a lease from the United States to Mexico.
Hertz you can go only 250 miles of Texas
Iwill look for you.
Some of these answers you get on this site confuse you, I'll provide a link
I bet you want your things. How you might need to do about it is to rent a van in the United States at Laredo, which has a policy that will allow you to cross the border, where you can transfer your things for hire in Mexico
There are hundreds of places that will allow their vehicles to Mexico ..... still looking
All the options you will cost you.
Have you on the purchase of a van 10 years and have your wife pay the import tax (800.00 USD), may sell after the move and should make enough off the sale to cover all of your moving expenses If you can find one for $ 1,000.00 and pay the tax you have only $ 800.00 $ 1800.00 invested. Cost of gas and tolls and motels of $ 600.00. I know for a fact, the vehicle may be sold in the DF MORE THAN $ 3,500.00
The Y boda .... felicidades
Well, I wish you good luck indeed. Suerte
See the link for Texas
Edit. Re the other answer. If your wife comes to the Mexican border, it can prevent a license. USplates it must do one or the other. import permits or taxes Temp.
Edit. The response of others .. You can drive the car in Mexico as the licensee in the vehicle.
None. Truck rental companies will not allow you to take their vehicles to Mexico. Therefore, only the registered owner of a car can drive this car in Mexico. See the website below and read the whole section on the transfer of your stuff in Mexico. Since your wife is a citizen, you do not have to worry about permits, etc.,. but this site gives good ideas on the physical movement of things.
Edit ... driving in Baja California or Sonora is just different than driving in other parts of Mexico ... different rules, different reuirement vehicle permit. You can call any rental, you can find and I do not think you will find one that will let you take one at Mexico City ... and in a sense? ... How would they find? Will not occur. You can use a U-Haul rental to save money driving to a Tx. border town, but he will need a professional ... as said Rolly. Also, considering that it may cost you more to move the furniture in Mexico, then to just Buy new when you get there. Often, it is best to simply put personal stuff and spend $ 8,000 or more, you would have spent on moving furniture to new things .... Pople many do.
Not at all, you have a looooooooooooooooot to learn Buena Suerte Amigo
