Texas Rental Agreement

I rent a house in Texas. This is the first time I've never rented a house. Lease expires in three months. Tenants must sign another lease and renew for another year or automatically obtained a lease from month to month? My aunt says they do not sign a new lease, it appears that in a lease month. This does not seem right somehow to me. I thought there was supposed to be a lease. My aunt said that only applies to apartments, not houses.

You have to read your lease to see what happens. Most leases are month to month TAA automatically at maturity, whether a house or apartment. Each party may request a new lease at that time, everything is up for negotiation between the parties.

I used to be a source of TX and still contact my tenants 60 days before the expiration date to let them know that I need a new lease within 60 days of the expiry of former if they wanted to stay. If they wanted to stay a month to month there would be a rent increase of 10%. Most of them chose to go with a new lease, but some decided to stay a month to month if they were planning a move or purchase a home in the near future .

By default a lease becomes a month if either party notifies the other at the end of the duration of the lease. So if you and the owner at the time doing nothing, it will become a monthly basis.
