MarketplaceTimeshare Tenerife Timeshare owners are highly satisfied Companies and organizations involved in legitimate timeshare have hit back at being wrongly tarred when mistakenly referred to in the same breath as fraudulent holiday clubs.
Sue McNicol, head of operations for the Organization for Timeshare in Europe (OTE), the industry trade association, criticized the UK publication Travel Weekly for "evil referring to timeshare, covering the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) last campaign warning consumers about the dangers of signing to bogus holiday clubs "*.
Timeshare, which was legislated by the European Directive on timeshare for the past 10 years, is welcomed by the vast majority of buyers. Such is its popularity, there are now over 1.45 million timeshare owners in Europe, and the numbers continue to grow.
OTE results of Consumer Research published earlier this year, involving 30,000 respondents in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, showed 96% part-time further noted other holiday property, with buyers by quoting the value, quality, location services and high standards proposed by the stations, and said a little more he was as good as or better than staying in hotels. A large majority, 83% were happy, or has no concerns on the purchase and almost three quarters would be happy that he recommends to parents and friends.
Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels, with more than 50,000 member families, the majority of Britons, is one of the largest players in Europe. Major hospitality brands such as Starwood Hotels, De Vere, Hilton, Marriott and Disney have shared their own divisions of vacation properties and new part-time workers in the United Kingdom include Butlins.
Timeshare very few complaints - the European Consumer Centres reported less than 120 for the first half of 2006 compared to the year some 400,000 victims of fraud vacation club announced by the OFT.
OTE, which Club La Costa is a founder member, has a substantial budget allocated to the fight against fraudsters and works closely with the police and other authorities in Spain and the United Kingdom.
Complain travel weekly Sue McNicol noted its "disappointment", adding that holiday clubs offered a bit more vacation reservations for service and, unlike part-time, do not tend to own or control the accommodation offered, are not bound by legislation and often fail to offer even better protection of the consumer base.
Richard Fletcher, director of Club La Costa Resort, said the company had 22 wholly owned and operated stations in the United Kingdom, Spain, Tenerife and Austria, and his mission, taken seriously in all aspects of the operation to exceed customer expectations with its high quality resorts, services and amenities.
