My parents own a timeshare they want out. Should they go through something like timesharesbyowner.com, or a real estate agent can locally (local station) to assist them, or perhaps resort to sell to them? Which is the best way?

To be honest the best bet is to advertise in local newspapers. Contact the place of purchase will put them in a week or a "upgrade" when they offer to "buy" the property. It will also depend on whether the timeshare is "the right to use" or is "sold." You can go through a realtor, but many of them do not want much to do with timeshare time shared. Another option is to your parents spacebank rent their week or RCI or Interval International, or any other brokerage firm they use. There are many factors involved in that speed it would sell , transfer fee, the location of the property, number of bedrooms, etc. Let me know if I can be of any help. I just read an article on this subject. Many ppl sell their timeshare on Ebay. If you go through a realtor, you must pay a registration fee if it sells or not. Timeshares are very difficult to sell. Good luck!

I would try Ebay first. Check around. Call & ask realators several in your area.

Good luck to your parents with the sale. We had our list of about two years. Nobody wants to buy. We even have a price less than half what we paid for it 18 years ago. The other thing is, most agents who sell shares of time for you, want their money up front ... as $ 500. I do not like that because once they have your money, they do not need to try to push the sale. That happened to us.
