MarketplaceTucson Arizona Home Staging Home Staging and recycling in Orlando, Central Florida and surrounding areas As a Home Stager in Orlando, Central Florida and surrounding areas, I am constantly meeting with vendors to advise them on how to prepare their house for sale in what has become a buyers' market. I look critically at each area, both inside and outside to determine what should be done to transform their house into a "product placement" to be sold.
Although each property is unique, there are guidelines staging fundamental that must be followed when preparing any home for sale, starting with "D" list. . . Deep Clean, depersonalize, and Declutter, Declutter Declutter and more! This includes kitchen cabinets and bathroom, closets, drawers, the spare bedroom that was used as a bedroom / office / JUNK ROOM. . . basement, garage. . . do I continue? When I get to this part of my clients are usually review their decision to move!
One of the biggest problems facing the daunting task of decluttering is deciding what to do with all the "stuff"! You know. . . the piano from Grandma that person plays, the president Chartreuse nobody is on, the adequacy of his bike and that no longer mounts. . . and my personal favorite - what about the treadmill that serves as a coat rack in the forgotten corner of the master bedroom! I understand we all have "stuff" that is really difficult to separate fact. . . "It's just too good to throw away", right. . .?
I am delighted to share with you the solution. . . Go to freecycle.org to find the Freecycle Network group in your area. They are a base, and non-profit movement of people who give (and get), "stuff" for free in their own towns. Freecycle Network is made up of different groups around the world who gathered to "recycle" unwanted items. They give things away rather than throw them away, and do their part to take care of Mother Earth, at the same time! Freecycle Network was started in 2003 when Deron Beal had a vision and an e-mail of 30-40 friends and a handful of non-profits in Tucson, Arizona. It is now present in 75 countries and 4,041 communities worldwide, and has 3,540,995 members. . . and still growing. Following their efforts they were able to keep more than 300 tons per day of waste from our landfills. They have only three major rules for participation: everything must be free, everything must be legal, and everything must be appropriate for ALL AGES. By giving freely with no strings attached, members of the Freecycle Network has instilled a sense of generosity of spirit in their local communities.
As a Home Stager, I was able to transmit this information to clients who are innumerable decluttering in an effort to make their home a book more "marketable". But I challenge each of us to join members of the Freecycle Network, people from all walks of life who have made waste into treasure to improve our environment.
Remember when decluttering. . . think green, think globally, and "recycle" on the spot. Good staging!
